Sinestro elaborates that the history of the universe had been altered; in the original timeline Ungara still existed, but Abin was not alive. Sinestro reveals that he is seeking the Flash in an attempt to make him change reality in their image, believing that he can "fix it all." From the prophecy told to him by Atrocitus (before his death at the hands of Sinestro), Sinestro knows that Abin will stand in his way to alter the timeline and therefore Abin must die, but promises to bring Abin back to life when he could. The Green Lanterns engage in combat in which Sinestro ultimately emerges as the victor. Sinestro then slices off Abin's right hand, causing him to lose his power ring.
